MINGO AND
THE LEGACY
OF THE ESP

1916

Russian engineer Armais Artunoff developed a submergible electric motor/centrifugal pump that could be used in water wells, mines, and ships.

1923

Artunoff immigrated to the US.

1928

Arutunoff moved to Bartlesville, where he formed Bart Manufacturing Company.

1930

With the help of a prominent Oklahoma oil company president Frank Phillips of Phillips Petroleum, Bart Manufacturing became REDA Pump Company; "Russian Electrical Dynamo of Arutunoff.

1959

Centrilift (BJ Pumps) was able to get around the REDA patent by simply changing the direction of spin of the shaft. When that happened, they also decided to change the shaft settings and bolt hole dimensions to make it impossible for someone to make a Centrilift Components to other components

1969

REDA Pump Company was an independent company until it was acquired by TRW, LLC.

1975

Joe Carl Started ODI Joe Carl started ODI (ex reda and centrilit Engineer). Partnered with Gould and Franklin

1978

Centrilift sold to Hughes Oil Tools, became Centrilift Hughes

1979

Started the first SOS (Submersible Oil Services) – Sold to Centrilift in 1980. Pioneer of the Variable Speed Drive developed by David Divine. Started with the oil cooled VSD.

1980

Centrilift moved from Tulsa to Clarememore

1981

A retired American Airlines Machinist, Ron Witten, along with Oklahoma State University graduates Ray Witten, of Centrilift and Terry Ingle, of Citi Services start a machine shop for the sole purpose of making adapter kits to fit up REDA and Centrilift (ODI) equipment; Mingo Manufacturing.

1983

Started ESP – Build the first test bench. Started building test benches to test motors, pump, and seals.

1985

Started SOS, which was a sister company for ESP. ESP did all the shop testing and SOS did the sales and services. Had a distribution agreement with REDA for 5 years.

1987

Baker Oil Tools merged with Hughes oil tools to become Baker Hughes.

1988

CAMCO purchased REDA Pump Company in TRW, Inc for $300 Million.

1989

SPI Started (motor winding shop built in Russa and sold to SLB). Still has activity in Guatamala and Lybia).

1990

ESP and SOS was sold to Woodgroup ESP

1992

Woodgroup ESP acquired Trico Submersible Systems (OK)

1996

Centrilift Purchases ODI

1998

SLB Acquires CAMCO (REDA), ESP and SOS Sell to Woodgroup ESP

2009

Global Oilfield Services and acquired Green Country (Chapparal)

2011

Summit ESP is started by John Kenner in Tulsa, OK. GE acquires John Wood Group to create GE Oil and Gas

2012

Halliburton purchased Global Oilfield Services. Lufkin Industries acquired Zenith (Downhole Sensor Company). Sercel acquired GRC (downhole gauge company).

2013

Accelerated Companies acquired Five Star Equipment. GE Acquires Lufkin industries

2014

Dover acquires Accelerated.

2017

Baker merges with GE . Halliburton acquires Summit ESP. Extract Companies were formed

2018

HALLIBURTON acquires Summit ESP. Dover spins off Accelerated to create Apergy.

2019

GE divests its ownership in Baker Hughes. Apergy Corporation acquires Automation Solutions, Inc (Downhole Sensor for ESP).

2020

Apergy merged with Ecolab to for Champion X.

2024

NOV acquires Extract.

2025

SLB Acquires Champion X, Liberty Lift Acquires Elite.

Gabriel C. Cochran

Director of Sales and Marketing

Graduate of OSU with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, with over 22 years of expertise in upstream oil and gas services and technical sales, specializing in ESP and HPS systems, with 16 years of comprehensive experience in domestic and international land and offshore installation projects.

Terry Ingle

President / Owner

Terry, a 1978 graduate of OSU in Mechanical Engineering and college friend of Ray, has over 40 years of experience in machining operations, including manual lathes, milling machines, and CNC programming. He began his career at Citi Services in Tulsa and co-founded Mingo Manufacturing with Ray in 1981.

Ray Witten

Vice President of Engineering / Owner

Ray Witten graduated in Mechanical Engineering from OSU in 1978. He joined Centrilift in 1980, then left in 1981 to start Mingo Manufacturing with his father, Ron Witten, a retired American Airlines machinist. Ray Witten and Terry Ingle have been co-owners of Mingo Manufacturing for over 40 years.

Justin Johnson

Business Manager

Graduated in 1993 from Rogers State University with a major in Organizational Leadership and Accounting. Possesses 13 years of management experience in the Oil and Gas Manufacturing industry. Responsible for overseeing daily operations, including transactions, purchasing, quoting, shipping, and receiving.

Brad Wittington

Production Manager

Brad brings over 30 years of extensive experience in machine shop operations. Having dedicated his entire career to Mingo, he has progressed through every shop floor position, starting from shipping and receiving. Recognized as the resident expert in machining operations, Brad also oversees the sales order process.

Jeremiah Walton

MINGO Product Line Manager

Jeremiah has over 20 years of expertise in manufacturing and mechanics. He started his career working alongside his father in the automotive repair industry before joining Mingo in 2016. Currently, he serves as the Mingo product line expert, managing all technical communication with the company's customer base.

Teresa Hofferber

Customer Service Representative

After joining Mingo in 2021, Teresa has been responsible for managing all purchase orders for the Mingo product line. She also interacts directly with our customers to ensure they receive what they need. Teresa plays a crucial role in our sales operations and is the first point of contact for all customer orders.

Kelsey McKinney

Engineering Manager, New Product Design and Development

Kelsey brings over 20 years of expertise in Oil and Gas Engineering and Design. After graduating from Tulsa University in 2003, Kelsey joined Centrilift as a Downhole Seal/Protector engineer. Kelsey joined Mingo in 2016, bringing his seal engineering expertise from Centrilft to continue the innovation of the mingo product line.
