Mingo Manufacturing just completed the installation of a nearly $1M investment in new and upgraded machining centers. In total, 10 new machines have been purchased and set up over the last 7 weeks. The project focused on the CNC Lathe and CNC Mill department, adding 4 new machines to the lathe area and 6 new machines to the mill group. Mingo’s mill department received the most substantial portion of the investment, upgrading to all brand new VF2’s and adding a new VF6 to the group.
“This upgrade is much needed and will have an immediate positive impact on production” says Perry Phillips, Mingo’s Production Manager. “We are increasing capacity with the additional machines, and reducing cycle times and improving efficiency with the new machines.” Along with the investment in the new machines, certain areas of the shop floor are also focusing on re-organization with a renewed focus on 5S practices.
